Green Corn Poster Auction

This month's Chamber Business@Lunch will feature the Bixby Optimist Club's Green Corn Festival Poster Auction.  Dale Boatmun, Optimist President will present information about the Optimist Club and all they do! Then let the fierce competition for bidding on the posters begin. Mark Boatmun will auction off posters designed and submitted by Bixby High School art students that were previously judged by the Bixby Optimist Green Corn Committee.  The proceeds from the auction will benefit Optimist sponsored youth activities.

Midwest Church Celebrates 20 Years

Midwest Agape Chapel of Bixby, OK will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a picnic, games, and fun family events on June 7th and 8th. The entire community is invited. Inflatable games, free food, pony rides, live music, and crafts will be among the list of activities.

Midwest was founded in 1988 by pastor, George Shafer, in a cinder block building in downtown Bixby, OK. The church later moved to a building behind the 126 Center at 12the and Memorial. The church's current campus is located at 161st betwen Sheridan and Yale. Kevin Lewis is the present church pastor. He
returned to Midwest infrom his pastoral position at a California church and previous associate pastor position at Midwest in the 1990's.

Leadership Bixby Graduates Class VI

Seventeen new graduates have completed the Bixby Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Bixby class VI. Awards were presented at Michael V's restaraunt. The program promotes leadership for the community by exposing attendees to the operation of organizations in the community. Non-profits, Schools, City government, State government, and many more areas.

Kari Brummett serves up a slice of homemade pie at her famously successful KariOkie restaraunt in downtown Bixby. KariOkie opened in the old diner which housed, among others, Ron's Hamburgers.
